Veterans Day
What is veterans Day?
World War I – known at the time as “The Great War” -
officially ended when the Treaty of Versailles was signed on June 28, 1919, in
the Palace of Versailles outside the town of Versailles, France. However,
fighting ceased seven months earlier when an armistice, or temporary cessation
of hostilities, between the Allied nations and Germany went into effect on the
eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month. For that reason,
November 11, 1918, is generally regarded as the end of “the war to end all
wars.”
When is
it?
Wednesday,
November 11
What is the purpose of Veterans Day?
In the USA, Veterans
Day annually falls on November 11. This day is the anniversary of
the signing of the armistice, which ended the World War I hostilities between
the Allied nations and Germany in 1918. Veterans are thanked for their
services to the United States on Veterans Day.
Why is it important to show
honor on Veterans Day?
Veterans Day is a time when Americans honor those who have
served in the U.S. Military—a time to express gratitude to those who have made
great sacrifices to preserve our freedom.
Several ways to show honor and respect on Veterans Day:
1) Say “thank you.” It’s such a small, simple gesture that is
completely disproportionate to the sacrifice soldiers make for us, but they
really do appreciate it.2) When you see a soldier or veteran eating at a restaurant, discretely tell the waiter/waitress that you’d like to pick up the tab for them.
3) Ask your company to name Veterans Day an official company holiday. A 2010 poll by SHRM found that only 21% of companies planned to observe the holiday this year.

"He that walketh with wise men shall be wise:but a companion of fools shall be destroyed."
This quote means that when you chose the right and don't get involved in bad things with friends that invite you drugs, alcohol or don't go to school you will be a CTR person. If you do all your homework's finish your classwork's and study to get really good grades in your test's, you will be rewarded with, your parents will be very proud of you, you will have the grades to play in a school sport if you like to, and you will graduate highschool with honors and many universities will like you to join them because of the good student you have and you will have a great future with a good payed job for you and your family.

"The best recreation is to do good."
"The best recreation is to do good."
-William Penn
I think that this quote means when you recreate to do the right thing, you are going to feel really good about it. For example, one day you just don't feel like doing your homework because you want to go out with friends or just stay at home playing videogames. There is when you got to recreate and do your duties before doing the stuff you want to do, when you finish your homework you will feel very good when you finally get to do all the stuff you like because you know that your homework is done, and not just do your duties however just to finish, i mean do well your duties to feel good with yourself when you go out and do the activities you like.

William Penn
"Right is right, even if everyone is against it; and wrong is wrong, even if everyone is for it."
-William Penn
This quote means that right is the right thing to do even though everyone doesn't agree. This quote also means that wrong is wrong even though everyone agrees. an example of this quote is at school if everyone doesn't wear the school uniform that doesn't mean you have to do the same. and if everyone thinks that you shouldn't wear the uniform you shouldn't listen to them. another example of this quote is if everyone in the class doesn't do the homework that doesn't mean you don't have to do either. and if everyone think you shouldn't do the homework you shouldn't listen to them. I think William Penn's words are very important because it remembers you not to go with the crowd.
